Where it began
This list started with my Nan.
A few things she said stayed with me. Then other voices—and life itself—added their lines.
For Benjamin & ElliotEst. 2026
It began with a list of insights. Words from Nan, lessons from life, and something worth passing on. Read the original. Then make it your own.

Where Roots & Wings began
A short, animated account of the people, lessons and purpose that became this living archive.
Scene 1 of 11: This list started with my Nan. A few things she said stayed with me. Then other voices—and life itself—added their lines.

I kept the words that helped me stand up, think clearly and keep moving.
Putting a thought into words gave it edges. A problem could become a question. A question could become a next step.
Not perfect answers. Bearings—tested by experience, revised through reflection and kept for the moments they might help.
T I M E
A place to stand. And the courage to go.
So they know who they are, where they come from and what they stand for when the world knocks them sideways.
So they can explore, fail, learn and become who they choose to become—without needing to live somebody else’s life.
Together they create direction: grounding without control, freedom without abandonment.
Keep what strengthens you. Challenge what does not. Then add the wisdom only your own lives can teach.
Words, thoughts and systems to carry forward—and one day add to.
Choose the shortest path. The whole archive will still be here when you are ready.
This is an eternal work in progress: the lessons that cost me time, the truths worth carrying, and the systems that turn awareness into action.
Use them as a map, not a mandate. Keep what strengthens you. Challenge what does not. Then add the wisdom only your own life can teach.
Not answers for every situation. Better questions, clearer thinking and practical tools for finding your own answer.
Thoughts shape feelings. Feelings drive actions. Actions compound into reality.
Mirror, validate and understand the experience before offering your answer.
Don't feed your problems with thoughts. Starve them with constructive action.
You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
Give the person your attention without preparing your reply.
Reflect back the meaning: “What I’m hearing is…”
Acknowledge why their response makes sense from their position.
“Do you want me to listen, help you think, or help you act?”
“Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”
Plan for friction. Build margin into the system before you need it.
Emotion moves through the body. Give it space without feeding it a story. Breathe, notice, and decide from a steadier place.
The timer starts only when you choose.
“You are what you think, and your thoughts make your reality.”
Write down the storm. Challenge the story. Chart a new way forward.
