Matt’s Insights List Insight: a revelatory truth that gets you to look at a problem in a new way…. This compilation of thoughts, insights, and guiding principles is something I began at one of the hardest periods of my life, to keep me going and get me through. At some of these times I’ve had nothing but the list to keep my mindset. At times I thought I was loosing it. A few years later at the advent of A.I. I fed the list into GPT and this is what it said unprompted; “it reflects a profound and comprehensive personal philosophy. It encompasses ideas about personal development, effective communication, parenting, resilience, self-awareness, and strategic thinking in both business and life. Exploring a wide range of topics, from individual habits to broader societal observations, with recurring themes of mindfulness, intentionality, and self-improvement. There’s a strong focus on cultivating discipline, effective communication, self-awareness, and learning from challenges. It Embraces the importance of taking responsibility for one's life and actions, while recognising the value of relationships, empathy, and collaboration”. So I knew I was on to something good, and I’ve been building it ever since as these important insights found me one way or another I wrote them down. And you should too. —————— Life has a way of teaching you things the hard way…this list is for you Benjamin and Elliot so you can skip some of those hard lessons (on me) or at least be aware….and as you grow carry it on… jot down your wisdoms too and send them to the future. If you’re ever lost, and need a light guide you, use the list. And if all you read is the first one, you’ll have everything you’ll ever need. It was given to me by my good friend Rhys Aitken when he taught me the power of manifesting what you want, choose it, make the decision you want even if it seems impossible he said, then the trick is to believe it, know it to be true, wholeheartedly believe the thing you’ve decided, imagined, dreamed, want, is coming, and it will happen. I said yeah ok Rhys, I wanted too, I was skeptical, but I knew that meant it wouldn’t work. You see, the thing that I wanted was to go to South America to go to Machu Picchu to go and see a part of the world I’d always wanted to go to but the opportunity sat in front of me to do it with a good friend, he was going anyway, part of me knew that it was the time, that any other time wouldn’t have compared. Rhys was going he was sure so that was that. I didn’t have a choice. So I thought to myself well….might as well give it a go. So I dropped the scepticism in my head right then and there. And I remember the feeling, I remember the moment, it was different to any other time that I had tried to ‘will something to happen with my mind’ or ‘hoped and longed’ for something I wanted so badly that would come true. It was similar but just not the same. Like I knew that when I made that decision, I’ve made it, was final, we were going, despite having no money to go, a job that I loved but I couldn’t leave to take such amounts of time off and all the other tangible reasons why I couldn’t go just fell away one by one. The money appeared, the time off from work, the plans all of it just fill in place in a matter of weeks from that moment I was on a plane to me Rhys. When I sat on the plane the feeling that came over me of just absolute control of my own destiny through this power of Actively willing it to happen and in that moment was extraordinary. I was dumbfounded that it had happened and that it had happened so easily…. at the same time I wasn’t surprised at all because I knew right, I’d manifested it. I wish I could walk every day in that feeling and that’s why I keep a list of these insights, to read over them to keep them in the front of your mind. That’s where your power is; store them into your subconscious, understand them, know them. when you need to call on these skills in your toolbox, they’re right there ready for you to use. For Benjamin and Elliot... all I ever wanted to give you are roots and wings. Roots are the grounding foundation of my unconditional love and the accumulated life wisdom i'm passing down for you to build a foundation with. Let these roots hold you steady when the winds of life blow hard, so you don't have to learn every painful lesson in the dark. Wings are for you to fly, and live out your imagination. To know there is nothing you can't do and that you should spread your wings and take every opportunity life gives you to explore, experience, learn, succeed, fail and grow. That you are what you think and your thoughts make your reality. Your thoughts shape your feelings and your feelings drive your actions. But remember your brain doesn’t know the difference between the real and the imagined therefore anything in life that you dream can happen, your bound only by the limits of your mind. Fly forward, and when you find your own truths, send your wisdom into the future.  And always remember i love you, more than anything, and everything, there ever was and ever will be. Dad ——————========================== The 4 🔑 Listening Skills: - reflect back, reflecting,, understanding how the person is experiencing the event. Mirroring. - Ask: what is this like for you, - Validation (their emotions are Authentic experience) - Understand ambivalence (being torn between two things). Refer to listening skills note: ————————————————————————— The collection of insights. A life’s wisdoms. An eternal work in progress… The list, a journal, wisdoms hard earned, take from it what you will, what you need, and write down any you learn. I hope that the gift of this knowledge in life story will continue forever to grow, as you make the story over time your own….

“The challenge is the feeling of uncertainty that comes from not knowing if all the hard work you’ve been investing in , will ever pay off. If you’re wasting your time… The truth is, it’s not the outcome that you’re building, you’re the thing that you’re building.
